These are a perfect healthy snack for when your conscience won’t let you devour a bag of Ruffles sour cream and onion potato chips…Or if you have apples lying around and you want something different…or how bout if you just want some apple chips!
I use a hand held mandolin to get the apples thin enough…I do not trust myself with a knife and still end up with all my fingers.
Make sure you put them on a silpat or parchment paper lined baking sheet so they don’t stick…Sprinkle each slice with some cinnamon sugar. Because I used the tart Granny Smith, I was more liberal here. If I was using a sweeter apple, I would not use as much sugar.
Bake for 1 hour at 200 degrees and then turn them over.
Someone needs a manicure.
Sprinkle with some more cinnamon sugar. You could even add some other spices like nutmeg, clove, allspice, or cardamom to the cinnamon sugar….but then these wouldn’t be cinnamon apple chips…They would be cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, cardamom apple chips or CNCAC apple chips and that’s just ridiculous.
After 2 hours, crack the oven door open and let them cool in the oven to help crisp them up even more.
The crispiness of these will make your skirt fly up! Ahhhhh.
